Happy Birthday Queen Elizabeth: 11 Times Her Majesty SLAYED Twitter!

Happy Birthday Queen Elizabeth!

Our most fabulous of sovereigns turns 89 today.

As everybody is well aware, good Old Queen Liz is one of the funniest, dryest, most mirthful Brits in all the land...behind closed doors.

How do we know? The odd eyebrow raise at Prince Philip, one or two not-entirely-genuine-sounding "how interesting"s and her famous photobombing japes are enough to tell us this.

Two hockey lasses Jayde Taylor and Brooke Peris got a jolly surprise!

When the Queen joined Twitter, we were all full of hope for a glimpse of what we all knew was there, bubbling beneath her steely glare.

But alas, with decorum to uphold and overbearing advisors to satisfy, her first (and possibly only) official tweet, was decidedly dull:

The Queen's first official tweet, sent whilst standing on a podium at the Science Museum.

Not to worry though, the Queen's been able to live vicariously through her many parody accounts.

One, in particular, seems brilliantly on point when it comes to replicating the sense of humour that we all expect to be typical of our dear Regina.

With a follower count of 1.25 million, Elizabeth Windsor's @Queen_UK account is definitely hitting a sweet spot with British fans.

Who knows, perhaps it really is her - wouldn't that be the most brilliant double-bluff?

Here are 11 of our favourite @Queen_UK tweets to celebrate the birthday of the lady herself:

1. The time that she showed the Queen of Pop who's boss. Ya hear that Madonna?

Take that Madge. [Twitter]

2. Taking no prisoners.

3. Her constant referencing of our favourite tipple.

4. He might be her son, but she still shows an appropriate amount of parental distaste for Prince Charles.

5. This tweet equivalent of the ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ emoticon:

7. This excellent response to David Cameron's "the Queen purred down the phone" blunder:

9. Humour even in the face of deep, deep disdain:

So there you have it, the Queen rocks. Happy birthday Queen Elizabeth, long live the Queen and all that!

Almost Avengers

Marvel are praised for getting their casting so consistently spot-on, but for every actor who slotted perfectly into the MCU, there were a handful of other guys who came super-close to landing the super-roles. With this in mind, we’ve assembled The Alternate Avengers: the actors who almost wound up being cast.

Iron Man was almost played by… Sam Rockwell!

RDJ’s casting as Tony Stark not only saved his career but it put Marvel on the road to becoming the biggest studio success story of the 21st century. Could you imagine ‘Iron Man’ having quite so much impact with Sam Rockwell in the title role? “Sam was one of the actors I was looking at for Tony Stark,” said director Jon Favreau while doing press for ‘Iron Man 2’.
"There were some things he would bring to the role that would have been great. Sam is very charismatic and when I was looking at the character there was a list and he had a spot on it." We reckon Rockwell would have made for a great Iron Man – if anything, we could have expected more impromptu dance scenes in ‘The Avengers’.
Also almost cast: Tom Cruise was attached the role way back in 2004, as was Leonardo DiCaprio and – pause for laughter – Nicolas Cage.
The Hulk was almost played by… Joaquin Phoenix!

With Eric Bana’s Banner stricken from the record and Edward Norton’s Banner off ‘The Avengers’ due to those pesky ‘creative differences’, Marvel had a Hulk-shaped hole to fill. Mark Ruffalo has since made the role his own, but Joaquin Phoenix was in talks to play the Jade Giant in 2010 – right in the thick of his ‘rap period’, leading up the release of faux performance art piece ‘I’m Still Here’.

Brooklyn Beckham Is Embarrassed By His Dad

The 16-year-old Brooklyn Beckham was celebrating on Friday as he reached one million followers on his Instagram account, but as he shot a video to thank his fans, dad David stole some of the limelight.

Have You Got "The Perfect Body"?

British manufacturer of lingerie Curvy Kate did a remake of the controversial advertising campaign Victoria's Secret «The perfect body", but with more realistic models.
Curvy Kate showed other perfection and beauty, but it is normal and such different women whose parameters differ from those that are imposed on us.

A year ago, Victoria's Secret has undergone severe criticism from the public to impose their ideals of beauty and perfect body. In the UK about this on the website Change.org published a petition calling for Victoria's Secret to apologize to all women for advertising in which the "beautiful" were declared parameters which are far from reality.
